If the oldest tree in the world is 15,000 y/o, & creationist swear earth is 6-11,000 y/o.how is it so ?
or did the tree grow in space until the boogieman created the world ?
as well as knowing nothing about physics it seems the goatherds who scrawled the bible knew nothing about how long trees live.
now we know & it doesn't add up, is it more "magic"?
or in the creationist world it doesn't have to make sense
- just be halfway reasonable enough to fool children.
@ Twilight Heathen: We don't use carbon dating to go back that far. To get the age of stuff that 6,000 years or older, we'd use argon-argon or uranium-lead dating. You really don't get radiometric dating at all.
@ That guy: There is no living tree that is that old, but we can date trees by their rings as well as radiometric dating. The oldest living tree almost 10,000 years old.
( a female tree no doubt! )
But if there are such people, and based on that you dismiss the Bible, than both those people and you would be wrong.
The Bible is not a book about history, actual events or characters, it cannot be taken literally.
It speaks about spirituality, and without actual spiritual attainment it cannot be understood.
The 6000 symbolizes the time, since humanity started to search for our connection to the Creator, we had our spiritual birthday at that time, so to speak.
So this 6000 years has nothing to do with big bang, trees or even the first humanoid creatures.
Here is an article about the secret meaning of the Bible:

I hope it clarifies some of the points in your question.
"It's a lie!"
God made the tree grow faster than time, obviously.
LOL HARDER at Lover of god and not self's answer.
God put extra rings in the tree? WTF?
Perhaps you should re-evaluate in who you are placing your faith?
