I have a 15inch Kicker L7 2ohms and I have a Rockford T10001bd that puts 1000wat rms at 1ohms will this work?
The Kicker L7 is 1000rms so can i wire a 2ohms Kicker L7 to 1ohms ??? and will it give 1000rms to the sub?? Help Please!!! Just keep your car windows closed, I'm tired of hearing young males choice of music.the only way to do that with a 2 ohm subwoofer is to add another 2 ohm subwoofer.
so if you have a dual voice coil subwoofer (meaning it has 2 positives and 2 negatives) then you are in luck. all you have to do is wire both of the positives to the positive on the amp, and both the negatives to the negative on the amp. that will give you a 1 ohm load and 1000 watts.
if you have a single voice coil woofer then you are S.O.L my friend. to get a one ohm load you will need to add another svc 2 ohm subwoofer to the equation. but if you did that each woofer would only get 500 watts.
whatever that amp puts out at 2 ohms is what your subwoofer will recieve if it is only a svc (single voice coil) subwoofer.
But that combination will work. it will work and play just fine. jus at 2 ohm wattage instead of 1 ohm wattage.
