Isn't it true that my vote in the Presidential election does not count. Only the electoral votes count?
Each individual vote goes toward winning the electorial vote
(Technically, it's the electors who have the right to cast their votes as they see fit. However, they always cast them in accordance with the will of the people, especially these days.)
PS VOTE YES ON 8.
GOD MADE MAN AND WOMEN.
some people were right though. theoretically, the electoral college is supposed to vote in the same direction as the voters. however, the representatives in the electoral college are not stopped from voting against the people. the rep. who did that will be fired, but the voting will NOT be re-done because the perpetrator would not be caught until the end.
if you vote it will not matter.

Your vote elects the electors.
There will be 535 or so of them. Depending on State rules they vote by district, in proportion to popular vote, or winner take all.
If there is a tie, Congress picks the President and the Senate picks the Veep.
I think Van Buren was the last one picked by Congress. He didn't have the most votes either.
